under my skin

okay, nevermind. i'm still working on some stuff.. and well, i may be working on some stuff for a while .. because.. well.. i'm awfully lazy. and so the new layout is on the back burner.

so there's one thing in this world that really bothers me, just really gets under my skin.
i mean, it starts off okay. someone writes a book, and that book is good and so many people enjoy it so much . . .
they enjoy it so much that they (whoever they are) decide to make a movie out of it,
and so the movie's pretty good, too, and maybe, maybe i haven't even seen the movie, but i've heard it's pretty good, but then, you know, maybe i've decided that i want to read the book first,
so off i go to the book store, looking for that awesome book that everyone's buzzing about, and there, there it is. the actors that were in the movie that was made from that particular book now have their faces printed on the cover of that very same book.
damn it all! damn it all to hell!
it's bad enough that any book has pictures - any book that's not made for children or that isn't already supposed to be a picture book. i mean, really, i want to make my characters, from my copy of my book, that i purchased, look the way i would imagine them to. i don't want to imagine helena bonham carter in the wings of the dove. she's great. i like her, but i don't want her polluting my mind as i read the book. i want to make my own characters. i don't want to see the made for t.v. cast for tess of the d'urbervilles on the cover of a celebrated thomas hardy classic.
no thank you.
already, elijah wood's face has graced the cover of every l.o.t.r. collection in the book store, and the first movie of the trilogy isn't even out yet.
oh whyyyy, oh whyyyyyyy, oh whyyyyyyyy, oh whyyyyyyyyyyyy?
i don't like it. not one bit.
