no home for the holidays

this is my first thanksgiving away from any kind of family; actually, this is my first ever major holiday away from home. i thought that with all of this resurgence of spirit and whatnot this holiday season, i thought with all of that i would have a greater need to be with my family this year, but
well, i guess it's obvious that i don't.
my roommates have gone home for turkey dinners, and so has everyone else in town,
but, hey, i get to use the bathroom with the door open
for a few days, anyways.

not that that's a real bonus or anything.

oh, and i get the pleasure of working 2-10 tomorrow. those are real primetime turkey hours. i was invited to have dinner with the lady downstairs, but, well, i can't. she said she'd make me a plate, and i have this image of me coming home around 10:30-ish to see a plate of food covered in saran sitting at the bottom of our stairs along with keith's dirty boots. also, i see a can of cocacola sitting there next to it, but this image comes from that scene from the movie the santa claus (with dudley moore). you know, where the little red-headed girl gets a plate of food and a can of coke and brings it outside to the starving homeless boy, you know, the same boy that was seen pressing his nose against a mcdonald's window whilst starving like a mad man (the only thing he had to eat was a piece of wrigley's doublemint gum), and then john lithgow goes crazy with those weird puce colored lollipops and children start flying and, god, this movie is so horrible.

so if you're not too incredibly busy tomorrow, and you happen to be in the greater knoxville area, please, oh please, save me from my loneliness and misery.
i'll even share my turkey plate.
now that's a bonus.
