soundproofing

again . . it's quite cool, and it feels like winter (finally).
i stood for a while, crunching my feet into the gravel. it's all so much louder when it's freezing outside,

though, i have to admit, the entire time i was standing there i was thinking about how deafening snow can be. soundproof. softening every sharp edge. that's a good silence.

i remember when i was a kid. i'd hang thick blankets on my windows and cover all flashing lights and digital clocks with black electrical tape. i'd take dirty clothes and shove them up under the door. the goal was to make the room pitch black. it worked.

and uh, well, i guess i was just remembering.
