space-oddity's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- all gone we used to walk down the halls and leave gifts for strangers. little homemade cards with weird cutouts from magazines. the gluestick was our friend. paper airplanes. weird little love notes. animals made out of construction paper pasted to paper plates. packets of hot chocolate. and if your door had a large enough crack, we'd probably shove some candy underneath it. my stepmother used to send me "health and beauty aids" (i use quotations 'cos the term has always sounded so queer to me. strange). she'd always send stuff i didn't use. she'd just send the same stuff that she buys for herself. smelly shampoos and secret deodorant (never liked the smell of it). aquafresh toothpaste in the pump. wow!. bleh. i never used any of it. [that's the spirit! what a way to be an ungrateful little bitch, leslie?! .. (yep. that's me.)] by the end of every semester, i'd have mounds of this stuff in my drawers. we decided to put it to use, making little people and animals with toothpaste pumps and deodorant tubes and bars of soap. people would come out of their rooms in the early morning and find some irish spring soap dressed as a native american, complete with feathers. maybe a little note would be attached.. something like, "better get to washing those stanky feet! you dirty boy, you." of course, notes as intimate as this would only go to the closest of friends.. don't know what you got 'til it's gone. 11:16 pm - Tuesday, Feb. 05, 2002 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
