space-oddity's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- poor kitty my cat is constantly playing around and underneath the oven. here's the evidence. well, tonight she got her little paw stuck in a little crevice underneath the unit. i mean stuck, underline and all. i had to get clay out of bed to help me free her. we had to unscrew some stuff and get out a flashlight, and she was squirming all around and hissing. she had a meow that i had never even heard before. she clearly was in some major pain. she kept contorting in such a manner that i thought she might actually break her leg. clay and i were freaking out. we were like, "we should call someone!?" but really, i mean, who do you call? the fire department? pathetic. we were thinking of calling the emergency animal clinic, but again, really, like they could help? do they really have an emergency kitty swat team that makes housecalls? prolly not. anywho, finally we were able to move her around so we could pull out the bottom of the oven, and then, tada, out came her little paw. she's limping and acting all sad now. her paw is twice the size as the other three. very badly swollen. i don't know what happened, but i'm just glad it's not broken ... or missing. for a second, i was thinking i'd have to hold her tight while clay just yanked her leg away. we'd see little kitty fingers still attached to the oven.. or even worse, the fire brigade would have to come saw it off. manic, i was. but i guess she's fine now. she's jumping on stuff and reeking havoc again. okay, i'm going to stop talking about my kitty child now because i fear i'm sounding a bit like kathie lee gifford with her damn kids. 3:44 am - 03.10.03 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
