space-oddity's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- princess aurora i found out yesterday that the lady who plays the voice of disney's classic sleeping beauty is a regular at my store. she's over 70 now. it's pretty much the only big thing she's ever done, so the name has stuck with her. a few years ago, she was pissed off about her new neighbors. they (a guy who's made his entire fortune on selling mobile homes to knoxville's redneck community) moved in and brought a demolition crew or somethingofthesorts with them. the headline in the newspaper read something like this, "sleeping beauty pissed off about big trucks tearing up her front lawn." i was thinking that maybe she doesn't really enjoy the title. i mean, that was nearly 50 years ago, but well , i guess there are worse things to be called. "ass munch" and "fuck nugget" have never been favorites of mine; nevertheless, i still answer to them from time to time. this said, i don't think i'd mind a lifetime of being called "sleeping beauty." it's quite nice, really. and so the wheels on the bus go round and round round and round round and round. and the childish don't apologize. they hide. i can be childish, too. 3:03 am - Friday, Feb. 08, 2002 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
